Retreats of Friends of Jochipapante
Maestro Deodemero Matios Maynas has been working as a Maestro for over 20 years and during this time he has made many wonderful friends along the way, many of whom have helped him to build the beautiful centre that is Jochipapanete. Here at Jochipapante we have welcomed brothers and sisters to cocreate with the Jochipapanete family and some of the have upcoming retreats this year listed in our Ayahuasca Retreats Page.
Listed Below are the details connected to each unique retreat, all of which are in deep alignment with the values and ethics of the Jochipapanete family and the way in which they authentically serve medicine and hold retreats.
2025
Uni Kaya Art Retreat 11st OCTOBER to 22st OCTOBER 2025
Uni is a travelling artist, tattooer and ayahuasca facilitator. He attended his first ceremonies with Deodomero Matios Maynas and Rosenda Flores in 2014 and started his apprenticeship with Maestro Don Enrique Lopez in 2018 to learn more about the Shipibo language and healing practices. During several art workshops with Mauro Reategui Perez, Amanda Sage , Alex and Allyson Grey as well as Autumn Skye. Uni learned how to portray his visions. He also studied Tibetan thangka painting with Sarika Singh and Master Locho in Dharamshala.
Uni Kaya met the Jochipapanete family in 2014 and has kept a good friendship with Maestro Deodomero and Maestra Rosenda ever since. In August of 2022 Uni co-created the first art and medicine retreat together with the Jochipapanete family which was so successful that it is now offered for the second time. Uni is a skilled and recognised artist and an experienced facilitator in the world of the Ayahuasca with a deep connection and respect to the Shipibo ancestral lineage. He has been studying the Shipibo language since 2018 and has done several dietas which help him to teach in an aligned way with the plants.
About the Retreat
Capture the creativity of your visions using a few simple visualization methods, create sketches and develop them into an acrylic painting supported by Uni. Our time will be balanced between creating and healing and is supported by breathwork and movement practices. This retreat is perfect for both experienced artists who want to explore their work through ceremony as well as someone who may have never painted before. We dive deep within ourselves to bring out what is already there and learn to open our eyes to the beauty within. Every brush stroke a prayer
Kano Netebo: Bridging of the worlds Retreat: 5th -15th October
This Retreat has been called forth by a very dear Friend of the Jochipapanete family, Steven, who was moved deeply by the program of our family Shipibo cultural Immersion retreat. Kano Netebo is Stevens expression of this retreat which also allows retreat participants’ to connect to the sacred plant Piri Piri and have an introduction to the world of Master Plant dietas through the opportunity to be in a short Dieta with Kene Waste which is the plant given to all Shipibo Children to enable them to connect to the visual world of Ayahuasca. Plant Dietas are a sacred part of the Ayahuasca World and for anyone who is considering a dieta this is a wonderful opportunity to be in a short dieta to begin to understand the process of dieting and coming to know some of the plants connected to the world of Ayahuasca. Steven is committed to the continuation of expressing authentic Ayahuasca retreats. Steven also offers his expression of Plant Medicine Integration post retreat as a Somatic Retreat Integration Practitioner.
