The Pearl of the Ucayali

Our center is located at KM 17 on the Aguas Calientes highway from the town of Contamana, in the Ucayali province.

To get to Contamana, you must first fly to Pucallpa. Guests fly into Pucallpa the day before the retreat starts and stay at Hotel Manish, which is organized by us. On day one of the retreat, guests are taken to the Pucallpa airport to take a 45 minute light aircraft flight from Pucallpa to Contamana. Once in Contamana it’s a 30 minute motocar ride into the jungle to Jochipapanete.

To get back to Pucallpa on the final day of the retreat, guests take the same 45 minute light aircraft flight from Contamana to Pucallpa, and stay that night again at Hotel Manish in Pucallpa.

The reason for the accommodation in Pucallpa the day before and after the retreat is that the light aircraft flights between Pucallpa and Contamana run on demand rather than a schedule, so we need guests in Pucallpa before 09:00 on day one of the retreat, and on the final day guests may not get back to Pucallpa until late afternoon (so could miss their departing Pucallpa flight if they booked to fly out on the same day). Staying in Pucallpa the night before and after the retreat enables guests to book the rest of their trip with confidence.

We organize and our retreat price includes accommodation in Pucallpa the night before and night after the retreat, return light aircraft flight from Pucallpa to Contamana and all airport transfers in Pucallpa and Contamana.
